FRoST Places 8th at ERC 2024 in Krakow
ERC 2024: FRoST Returns to the European Stage
Krakow, Poland – September 2024. The Frankfurt Robotics Science Team (FRoST) competed at the European Rover Challenge 2024, held in Krakow, Poland. This marked the team’s fourth appearance at Europe’s premier Mars rover competition, finishing 8th overall in a field of 27 teams from around the world.
Competition Overview
ERC 2024 continued to push the boundaries of what student-built rovers are expected to accomplish. Teams faced tasks spanning autonomous navigation, scientific sample collection, equipment maintenance, and presentation of their engineering approach to a panel of judges.
What Comes Next
With four ERC campaigns and a growing body of competition data behind them, FRoST channelled the lessons from ERC 2024 directly into the design priorities and capability targets for EROS, the team’s next-generation rover platform.
